King's Palace, Seoul Korea

On Friday afternoon we continued our tour of Seoul by visiting the King's Palace. The last King of Korea reigned until 1926.  He lived in this palace and even had a car.  He died just a few years ago.  The Japanese took over this area when they invaded Korea. The furnishings that you see are original to the palace such as the silver couch and comfortable "king" size bed. The red couch is where the King would sit every day with his court of advisors sitting on the pillows.   The round dial tells when the four seasons would come.  The hug is from the tour guide.  We finished the tour with a ride through the city streets.  The city is really quite new when you consider that everything was destroyed during the Korean War.  Very new modern high rise apartment and business buildings everywhere.
