We arrived home safely from Harbin (Harbean) and had a terrific trip. These pictures were taken at the East-north Tiger base. We started the tour at the souvenir room. They have 80 tigers in this preserve that roam at will. We road a bus through the area...the tigers came right up to the bus. There were many gates and safeguards to pass through before the bus could enter an area. The pictures are a little fuzzy as the windows of the bus were not clean. The tires of the bus had chains all around them. Ahh..such sweet things! A few lions are also kept in this facility but they are in separate "homes." Notice the white and black tigers, cheetah, famous white lion...not a very good picture but he didn't want to cooperate. This preserve also raises chickens. The animals are fed a chicken a day or maybe two. The visitors could purchase a chicken for $10 and you could throw the live chicken to the tigers. Thankfully, we didn't see that happen. The safest tiger was at the end....he didn't bite.
