Terra Cotta Warriors - This Museum covers a huge area...the farm where the Warriors were discovered. They build covered building right over the area of the tomb...now this tomb covered a magnificent area and the Emperor started his project for his death bed when he was about 27...it took 40 years to finish. After the Emperor died, everything was covered up and there was a huge peasant rebellion and they burned and destroyed so many things in the tomb. Many thousands of peasants were killed when the tomb was finished because this burial place was suppose to be a secret and the Emperor didn't want the word to get out. The Emperor is still in a very large tomb that has not been unearthed 2200 hundred years later. Specific instructions were given that if his tomb was broken into...it was boobied trapped to poison all of the water in Xian and people would die. The authorities are still working on a way to do this. In 1974, a farmer found some fragments in his well and everything happened since that time. In fact, we met the farmer, he autographed a book that we bought. An old guy and we were not allowed to take a picture. All of the kids will like this book. We will get it read and maybe send it home so you can pass it around.
We had lunch before visiting the Terra Cotta Warriors at the Noodle Factory.
A very heavy piece of dough that is placed on a board and he used a sharp blade to cut the noodles that fall into the hot water.
