Siem Reap , Cambodia - TaphramTemple

Many temples were built in this area, actually, 3,000. Pictures of Taphram Temple was built in the 8th Century and took about 30 years to build. Built out of sandstone that turns black over time. Incredible place.

A Buddah Temples then in a few hundred years, the king turns it into a 
Hindu Temple and takes out all of the Buddah's....then a new king

Look at the perfection

Many stones have fallen off or were torn down to rebuild.  
During the Civil War,  all of the numbered rocks and
 plan for reconstruction were destroyed by the Pol Pot Regime.
 It is a slow process to rebuild.

Looks like an impossible job...will probably take 
another 100 years to put together.

The Shung tree starting growing right over the
 stone wall.  Very damaging...

The King build this large swimming pool for himself to swim
 with all of this concubines.  The very small swimming
pool at the top was built for a few men.

We had lunch at an outdoor restaurant...buffet.  It was fabulous!

The buffet was in three different rooms...everything was so fancy!

Great lunch -  headed back to the hotel for 1 hour and
  grabbed a quick nap before visiting another Temple
