Angkor Wat Temple....the most famous

This has been on our bucket list. Wow! What an incredible place built in the 9th to 12th century.

This really is Ankor Wat

Very old Banyon tree

The only part of the Temple destroyed during the Civil War 1975-79, 
were these column that took the bullet holes at the entrance.

The Buddah - many Monks in the area

Looks like Dwight when he was 5 years old.

This picture was taken in the sun but wanted to show 
the many monkeys in the area just hanging out.

The French, Italians and Germans are funding the 
restoration projects.  What a site!

This stone was put in the very middle of the Temple . 
 Exact North, South, East and West.  We tested it with a
iPhone...perfect...long before the compass was discovered.

Four corners just like this...Remember - no mortar or cement used.  All stone...
