Dinner on the Saigon River

We were told to dress for night by our guide as we were going on a dinner cruise down the Saigon River...

-We enjoyed a cruise down, up and around the Saigon River.
A seven course meal was served along with live entertainment.
A perfect evening in Saigon.

Deep political discussion

Beautiful dancers from Vietnam

The three Christine's on the trip - I am oldest,  Christine from Provo,
the youngest - Christine lives in China via US

The decoration on the food is made out of a carrot and squash

Cucumber and carrot - I will have to practice this!

Our hotel in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) - notice the big dragon
that goes inside the hotel and out the front door...very cool.

Fancy Christmas/New Year's decorations - they
were taken down the day we left Saigon.

The street decorations were amazing

This is the very famous "Rex" Hotel in Saigon that was used
for the CIA, journalists, government officials for big meeting,
dinners, entertainment.  We went inside the hotel, walked
around and enjoyed a perfect evening on the top deck to a refreshing
lemonade with our friends,  Christine and Gary Baker,  They
live in Tianjin,  China were he manages a plant for Boeing.

National Assembly built by the French  in the early 1900's.

More New Year's 2012 Dragons - reached an entire long block

A very large double aquarium in the lobby of the Rex.

The beautiful marble staircase

View of the plaza from the top of the Rex

Our entertainment was performed here as we sat at our
table and sipped coconut/lemon drink.
