Our Friday outing with Rae and Rob Rancie from Australia where we visited the Panghe Temple. It was quite a distance out in the
country and we loved getting away from the big city of Beijing. This
area is still Beijing but nestled against the mountains. It was a cold
day but we will return here in the spring to see all of the flowers and
green mountains.
| This Temple dates back to the
5th century and it is very evident that small repairs have been made over the years but the original ancient flavor remains. |
| A very large Buddhist Monastery that was a busy place of worship . |
| Lane and Rob - a great day |
| We have to end every
excursion with lunch. We were fascinated with this huge chairs. Rae and Chis. They are terrific people that have raised 10 children!! |
| Lane is lighting three sticks of incense for a prayer |
| Donations accepted for Buddah |
| Very ornate and sacred to the people that visit to offer prayers |
| A very old Sal tree( 1000 yrs) that is used to make furniture, medication |
| You can light a lotus flower to offer a prayer |
| If you pay 10 RMB you can swing the gong. |
